The Artist – KAI DROBISH
Growing up with an artistic mother, Kai seemed to always be creating. When she attended college, she majored in ceramics – fun, joy, and she loved it! Around her junior year, she panicked, thinking as most artist might, that she had to major in something that would translate into a “real” career. She graduated from LSU with a BA in Political Science, and the funny thing is that 15 years later, her passion and career is as a full-time ceramic artist! She truly can’t believe her luck – Making A Living Doing Something She Loves!
Two themes permeate her work:
Architecture – She can spend days walking down the same streets, noticing new details on buildings and she loves being able to express that through her artwork.
and
Animals – She is a lover of all creatures and enjoys interpreting them in clay often with a whimsical view! Working in clay makes all things possible and you are only limited by your own creativity.
